Kareena Kapoor Khan’s on-screen mother in “Bajrangi Bhaijaan”, actress Alka Kaushal and her mother Sushila Badola sentenced to two-year imprisonment on Thursday. Sentence has been pronounced by the court of Sangrur in Punjab and the case is about to bounce check of 50 lakhs.
Now both mother daughter is in jail. The matter is going on since 2015. Earlier, in Malerkotla court, then the case was run in Sangrur.
Advocate Sukhbir Singh said that the farmer Avtar Singh resident of village Lagriya was known to Alka. To make TV serial, Alka had borrowed 50 lakhs from Avatar. When Avatar asked for money back from Alka, the actress and her mother gave two checks of 25-25 lakhs to Avtar. As the check bounced, Avtar filed a case against them in Malerkotla.
Court sentences Alka and her mother to two-two year’s imprisonment in 2015. And also ordered to pay double amount to Avtar Singh. But both filed an appeal against the decision in the Sangrur court. On Thursday court protects Malerkotla Court’s decision, and both of them were sentenced to two-two years imprisonment.
Alka Kaushal is known for portraying negative characters on small screen. She known for her work in Marathi cinema and her roles in TV shows such as “Kumkum” and “Qubool Hai”. She has played supportive roles in numerous Hindi TV serials, mainly negative characters or vamps.
Alka is married to TV producer and director, Ravi G Kaushal; the couple have started their own production house, Mangalam Arts.
She was last seen in TV show “Swaragini – Jodein Rishton Ke Sur” as Parvati Gadodia and as Tarkeshwari Singh/Tharka Bua on “Sarojini”.
