Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani is leaving no stone unturned to ensure his much-awaited movie based on Sanjay Dutt’s life is a treat for his fans.

Karishma Tanna and Ranbir Kapoor

The cast of untitled biopic which sees Ranbir Kapoor in the lead, seems to be getting more and more interesting.  After Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Dia Mirza and Manisha Koirala, the latest actress to join the Rajkumar Hirani-directed movie is TV actress and former ‘Bigg Boss’ contestant Karishma Tanna.

According to reports, Karishma is playing one of the real-life love interests of Sanjay Dutt. The actress has already shot for her portion in the film over a three-day schedule.

Speaking to a daily, Karishma said “I am doing a guest appearance. I am sharing screen space with Ranbir Kapoor, but I am not exactly playing Sanjay Dutt’s love interest, I am one of his encounters… It’s just a cameo but I would take my role as important as it is a biopic on Sanjay Dutt, so whatever is important in his life is being shown in the film.”

Karishma who stepped into showbiz in 2000, with Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ has been part of several reality shows including ‘Bigg Boss 8’, ‘Nach Baliye’ and ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’.

The Sanjay Dutt biopic is currently being shot in Mumbai. While Ranbir brings to life the journey of the star, Manisha will be seen as Sanjay’s mother Nargis Dutt, Paresh Rawal as Sunil Dutt and Dia as Maanayata Dutt. According to reports, Anushka plays a journalist and Sonam will be seen as one of his love interests.

The movie is set to release later this year.
