Veteran actor Satish Kaul who was considered as Amitabh Bachchan of Punjabi cinema and was worth crores, however in recent times sometimes he could not get anything to eat for several days.
Their was a time when he used to move in luxury cars is now said to be in a hospital fighting for his life, unable to pay the hospital bill. He is not able to cure himself medically.
The booming Punjabi film industry has given its veteran actor no recognition. His wife has divorced him, and all his life’s earnings, when he had invested in an acting school venture in Ludhiana, is gone with the failed project.
He sold his only flat in Mumbai and moved to Punjab but without the government’s help, the acting school flopped and the veteran was left struggling for bread and butter.
Kaul is now dependent on the hospital staff. Ironically, his fans and friends have also turned their backs on him.
Satish Kaul has acted in over 300 films, out of which, he has played the lead role in 85 feature films. He was also seen in some Bollywood films like Prem Parbat, Warrant, Karma, Gunaho Ka Faisla, Bhakti Me Shakti, Dance-Dance, Ram-Lakhan and Pyar To Hona Hi Tha. He was given the Lifetime Achievement Award by a Punjabi television channel in 2013.
