After so many rumors, the news is finally confirmed that the release date of ‘Padmavati’ movie, which is director by one of the finest actors of the industry, is delayed.
This news was confirmed by a company spokesperson for the film’s producer and distributor Viacom18 Motion Pictures.
As the film has gone through a lot of controversies, and even has been a social debate on “distorting history”, the movie won’t be released on the scheduled date, which was first on December.
“A new release date will be announced once the “requisite clearances” are in place”, said the spokesperson in a statement.
As the movie is already under controversies, the actors, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor are also disheartened and hurt with various statements, and speak out about the same. This is what Deepika had to say, “As a woman, as an artist, as someone who has worked and given two years of my life to this movie, I feel hurt, I feel angry, but I also think it is extremely funny that people are reacting like this to a film. I am feeling so many emotions at this point.’’
And even Ranveer Singh stood up saying, “I am 200 per cent with the film and I stand by it as well as Sanjay Leela Bhansali. I also stand by his vision for the film. He had a vision and has done everything to realise it. Vis-à-vis the film, I can just request the audience and everybody else who have concerns about it to wait and watch the film.”
“One shouldn’t doubt Sanjay sir; he is a magnificent film-maker and has tremendous respect for Indian culture and an enormous respect for Indian heritage and he will never intentionally hurt sentiments or do anything wrong. He is a good man with good intentions.”
